PSX's conference has been a gone for another year, this is what I predicted what would happen:
This week marks the second annual PlayStation Experience also known as PSX. The event is spread over two days and is for PlayStation community who can play games such as Gravity Rush Ratchet & Clank, Severed and Uncharted 4 on the show floor along with Panels to attended, a live podcast with Kinda Funny Games PS I Love You XOXO which Shuhei Yoshida should be appearing on and the finals of the Capcom Cup.
The biggest thing though for everyone there and at home, like myself. Is the PSX conference last year we saw Street Fighter V for the first time, Until Dawn remerged and Persona 5 was confirmed to becoming to the west.
I'm going to try and predict what might be at this year’s PSX conference, starting with...
Demon's Souls Remastered
One that I didn't think or we would see in till recent hints like this from Bloodborne's official twitter feed.
It may be nothing but with Bloodborne & Dark Soul's II selling a combined total of over 1.8million on PS4 there very well may be a call to see where this all started.
Drawn to Death Open BETA
Sort of a forgotten game from last years PSX but with recent closed BETA's. Bringing it to masses in a open BETA seems a good idea to me to get some buzz around it and you can bring David Jaffe on stage which is always a treat.
Final Fantasy VII Enhanced Edition to be released after the conference
Another thing from last year was this troll of a FFVII coming to PS4, we would later find out a actual remake is coming.
But in the mean time the 1998 PC version enhanced on STEAM, which was announced to be coming to PS4 last year has recently had it's trophy list leaked and is scheduled to be coming out this year.
That it may just make sense just to bring it out right after the conference and get over done with.
PS2 Classics first wave announced
What better place to formerly announce PS2 classics coming to the PS4 then at a event about PlayStation with PlayStation fans.
This seems like a no-brainier to show a sizzle of the first wave games coming, I doubt we will see them come out right away. I do think we will get a date & a price point on them.
I will be talking more about PS2 classics soon, so keep a eye out for that.
VR date & price and launch games
Much like the PS2 classics this seems the ideal place to announce when in the first half of 2016 PlayStation VR is coming and most of all how much it will cost and the games coming at launch.
I'm a big fan of VR but price point along with the games coming is a massive for me and talking to other people them as well.
Talking of VR...
No Man’s Sky to be shown with VR
PlayStation VR has some good looking titles coming but no real Triple-A title. When I see NMS, I can only imagine what it would be like to play in VR and making the game work with PlayStation VR might be the reason it's not coming to June.
Now we move on to the big hitters from Sony's studios, starting with
God of War IV
God of War IV was accidentally announced last year in a panel by Corey Barlog creative director at Sony Santa Monica Studio.
We've seen or heard nothing since bar a brief tease of some feet today by Sony Santa Monica Studio's twitter feed.
I don't know if this will be actually be the fourth game following on from three or a reboot but I do think it will be likely we see something God of War at PSX.
Sucker Punch’s New Game
Sucker Punch the studio behind Sly Cooper & Infamous have been working on a new game, what it is we don't know.
But we do know Shuhei Yoshida has played it in some form, that it very well may pop up at PSX.
Sony's Bend Studio's New Game
Bend are best known for making the Syphon Filter series along with portable entires of Resistance and Uncharted.
There last core game was in 2011 and since then we got a card game based in the Uncharted universe in 2012 then nothing since.
We know there working on a PS4 title and is there biggest game yet but nothing else part from rumors that it may be a horror game.
But it seems time for them to show something.
My last prediction and sort of a dream thing to happen especially old PS4 adverts hinting at Street Fighter V before we knew about that game and other recent things like him be answer to a question if you want to get a 20th anniversary PS4 from the store in London last year.
Ohh and Sony's partnership with Activision, could we see this guy make a comeback
Did I get much right well not really, is the answer. There was no Demon's Souls Remastered, no VR launch date or anything about No Man's Sky coming to VR or any real mention at all of the game. Drawn to Death was not to been seen and neither was Sony's main first party studios even if Santa Monica did show of some smaller games.
Final Fantasy VII Enhanced Edition is now up on PSN along with PS2 Classics which have come out right away (I was wrong on that as well) but weren't in the show but was announced before hand due to all the leaks. Some good stuff from the first batch which includes two games I wanted Dark Cloud & Rouge Galaxy, huge 3rd party games in GTA which gives hope for other 3rd party titles and a cult classic from what I've been told with The Mark of Kri.
Did we see Crash, does this count?
