Earlier this year I had the opportunity to go to EGX and one of the games I played there was Rainbow Six: Siege. Since then I’ve played it in a closed & open BETA and now the retail version.
My best experience was the closed BETA as myself along with four other guys, had a full team along with having chat setup. We had a great time and due to communication between we won 9 out of 10 times because of teamwork.
Now having the game, myself and not all of the group I was playing with having it, is where the Siege starts to become not as much fun.
If you don’t know much about the game, it’s primary online only there is about 10 training type mission which you can play on your own and try for high scores but after that it’s online multiplayer.
A game based around working as a team where you only have one life that you can’t go in guns blazing and just respawn, you have to work together and with a team that works together you’re nearly unstoppable as at the moment from my experience going online now.
Without people I know, the experience can be all over the place working with strangers.
The gameplay, the modes and the whole you pick an operator to use with unique abilities is all great but if you lack a team then your enjoyment will take a dip.
