The handheld puzzle game has become one of the most popular genres over the last few years, with great games like Pullblox and Candy Crush Sagas its not easy for a smaller team with a smaller game to make a splash. Pazuru is the latest puzzle game hitting the already massive collection of puzzle games on the 3DS eShop and it does so with simple but engaging gameplay.
Pazuru, Developed by Moragami, uses a very simple one button control scheme to create brain teasing levels where the player aims to collect all the ninja stars in as few moves as possible. The art style is nice and is simple enough that it is very clear what is being interacted with. Its nothing special or particularly exciting but it does its job well.
The game ships with 75 puzzles that get more difficult as you go by adding more mechanics or combining multiple mechanics that require quick reflexes as well as a quick mind. The game also has a really good and easy to use editor that allows you to make and share your own levels using QR codes. With the right amount of support this will be where players will get the most replay value for sure.
Overall Pazuru is a very simple but also very enjoyable puzzle game that has a good amount of content from the get go and a great editor that will hopefully give the game some legs.
Final Verdict: Pazuru doesn't do anything special but it keeps everything simple, fun and polished. If you have an afternoon to fill and want to test your brain then Pazuru is well worth its price.
