There has been many times where sports with other things have combined be it mutants, space marines or cars which is an option that turns up often in Top Gear, The Simpson's and even bonus games in games.
Rocket League is a game about taking cars, radio controlled style ones and sports in this case football (soccer) and blending the two from Psyonix.
This isn’t there first go at the blending the genres as Rocket League is the follow up to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.
I’ve not played SARPBC myself, so can’t compare the two but RL is an interesting game where you control a RC car which you can customise the body, wheels, paint job etc. Once you’ve done that you have few game options practice which will teach you how to play, exhibition, season where you can select how large the team is from 1v1 up to 4v4 more players you have the more hectic it gets and how many weeks will be in the season which is set-up like leagues in America where you play a regular season then play-offs to win the championship.
The real meat and potatoes is online where you can play ranked or unranked in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 which is just pure fun but if you could get a set of friends together in the 3v3 or 4v4 and you sort of tactic’s like who’s going to play as a goalkeeper, then you could become a real force.
Rocket League is free on PlayStation Plus for July, so there is no reason not to check it out and get a group of friends together to score some goals.
